Tinubu Meets Grieving Plateau Mother, Promises Justice After Deadly Jos Attack

Share f X W in

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday visited Plateau State to console victims of the March 29 attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos, where gunmen killed several residents and left many others injured.

During the visit, the President met with affected families, including a woman whose emotional moment holding the body of her son, Ayuba, in a viral video drew widespread attention across the country.

Tinubu acknowledged the pain of the victims and assured them that the Federal Government will take steps to prevent a repeat of such violence.

He expressed sympathy to the grieving mother, referencing the viral video and the emotional impact it had on many Nigerians.

The President said the government will support affected families but noted that no financial assistance can fully replace the lives lost.

He added that healing and comfort ultimately come from God, while reaffirming the government’s commitment to providing assistance.

Tinubu also stressed the importance of justice, stating that those responsible for the attack must be held accountable.

He said restoring peace and security remains a priority, as authorities continue efforts to track down those behind the incident.

The attack in Angwan Rukuba had earlier led to the imposition of a curfew in parts of Jos, with security agencies intensifying operations to prevent further violence.
