United States President Donald Trump has reposted a viral video featuring Nigerian cleric Ezekiel Dachomo, in which the pastor appealed for international intervention over alleged killings of Christians in Nigeria.
Trump shared the clip on his Truth Social account on Saturday, drawing renewed attention to the video which originally surfaced online several months ago.
In the footage, Reverend Dachomo was seen speaking during the burial of individuals he claimed were victims of targeted attacks against Christians.
During the emotional address, the cleric called on the international community, including the United Nations and the United States government, to intervene in Nigeria’s security situation.
“United Nations, I know you are watching me. American Senate, you are watching what I’m saying here. Special Adviser to Trump, please tell Trump to save our lives in Nigeria,” the pastor said in the viral clip.
Trump’s repost came shortly after he announced that US forces, alongside the Nigerian Armed Forces, carried out a joint military operation that reportedly killed Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, identified as a top ISIS commander and second-in-command of the terrorist group globally.
According to Trump, the operation followed extensive intelligence gathering focused on tracking terrorist movements across Africa.
He described al-Minuki as one of the world’s most active terrorist figures and stated that his elimination would weaken ISIS operations across the African continent.
The reposted video has since generated intense reactions online, with supporters praising the attention drawn to insecurity in Nigeria, while others debated the broader religious and security narratives surrounding violent attacks in parts of the country.
The development has further amplified global discussions about terrorism, religious violence, and international cooperation in addressing insecurity across Nigeria and the wider Lake Chad region.
