The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has announced the winners of its senatorial primary elections in Abia State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party declared Jude Udeachara as winner for Abia North Senatorial District, Bob Ogu for Abia Central, and Chinyere Onuoha for Abia South.
According to the results announced by the party, Jude Udeachara secured 39,740 votes to emerge as the PDP candidate for Abia North.
Udeachara previously contested as the PDP House of Representatives candidate in 2019.
In Abia Central, Bob Ogu clinched the party’s ticket after polling 18,901 votes during the exercise.
Ogu previously served as Commissioner for Works under former Abia State governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
Meanwhile, Chinyere Onuoha emerged winner of the Abia South senatorial primary after scoring 33,611 votes.
The results were officially announced at the PDP state office in Umuahia by the Chairman of the PDP Senatorial Election Committee, Ikenna Onuoha.
According to Onuoha, the exercise was peaceful, fair, and conducted without rancour.
He also disclosed that the Abia senatorial primaries were conducted through a consensus arrangement.
Earlier before the announcement of the results, the Abia PDP Chairman, Abraham Amah, stated that the party was fully preparing to reclaim victory in the state during the 2027 elections.
