An old video of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu speaking about his relationship with the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God has resurfaced online and is generating fresh reactions on social media.

The viral clip shows Tinubu recounting an encounter with Enoch Adeboye during a gathering attended by members of the Christian Association of Nigeria and other Christian leaders in Kano State.

According to the President, the cleric once gave him the biblical name “Abraham” and explained its significance during a church event attended by his wife.

Tinubu Recounts Conversation With Adeboye

Speaking in the resurfaced video, Tinubu recalled being present when his wife was ordained as a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

He said Pastor Adeboye used the opportunity to describe him as a figure destined for national leadership.

“The day my wife was ordained Pastor in the Redeemed Church, I was there. Pastor Adeboye gave me Abraham. I said, what is the meaning? He said, watch out, the father of nation,” Tinubu stated.

The comment has attracted renewed attention online as the clip continues to circulate across various social media platforms.

The resurfaced footage comes at a time when conversations surrounding leadership, governance, insecurity and economic challenges remain prominent across the country.

Many social media users have reacted to the clip, with supporters and critics offering differing interpretations of the remarks attributed to the RCCG leader.

Some viewed the statement as a spiritual observation made years ago, while others linked it to ongoing national discussions about the performance of the current administration.

The video has also reignited discussions about the relationship between political leaders and influential religious figures in Nigeria.

Pastor Adeboye remains one of the country’s most respected Christian leaders, while President Tinubu continues to face growing public scrutiny over economic reforms, inflation, insecurity and governance issues.

As the clip continues to trend online, it has become another talking point in the broader national conversation surrounding leadership, faith and the future of Nigeria.

Neither the Presidency nor the Redeemed Christian Church of God has issued any fresh statement regarding the resurfaced video as public reactions continue to pour in across social media platforms.
