Popular social media influencer and self-acclaimed relationship therapist, Blessing CEO, has been re-arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over an alleged ₦69.15 million fraud case.

The Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the EFCC on Tuesday re-arraigned Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, before Justice R.A. Oshodi of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos.

She is facing a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money under false pretence and allegedly stealing the sum of ₦69,150,000.

At the commencement of proceedings, EFCC prosecutor, C.C. Okezie, urged the court to proceed with the arraignment, stating that the defendant had been duly served with the charge.

However, defence counsel, Nkama Nneka, informed the court that the charge had only recently been served on her client.

After listening to both parties, Justice Oshodi ruled that the arraignment should proceed in accordance with the law. The charges were subsequently read to Blessing CEO in open court.

The latest development adds to the legal challenges facing the influencer, who has been under investigation over allegations that she fraudulently obtained and diverted millions of naira.

As of the time of filing this report, the court proceedings were continuing in line with due process, while the allegations against Blessing CEO remain subject to determination by the court.
